In this section are listed some common compound formulations which a Family Practice clinician can enlist to treat various clinical presentations.  In addition to these standard formulas VIP Compounding will work you to design a unique prescription compound which addresses your specific patient’s needs.

COMMON FAMILY PRACTICE COMPOUNDS

Nail Removal

  1. Urea 40% Ointment. 30gm or 60gm airless pump container or ointment jar

Onychomycosis (Nail Fungus)

  1. Terbinafine/Econazole/Ibuprofen 2.5/1/1% in DMSO Solution. 10ml nail brush and bottle
  2. Terbinafine/Econazole/Ibuprofen 2.5/1/1% in Recura Antifungal Gel Base. 30gm or 60gm airless pump container. *Contains natural enhancers: Thymol, Urea, Tea Tree oil. (*penetration enhancers and natural oils to facilitate active API absorption)

 Plantar Fasciitis (Pain and Inflammation)

  1. VIP PF Gel Multiple combination of APIs, in a PLO Gel. 20ml droptainor bottle. Available APIs: Amitriptyline, Ibuprofen, Gabapentin, Guaifenesin, Ketamine, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine, Pentoxyfyline, Phenoxybenzamine, Phosphatidylcholine

Iontophoresis

  1. Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate 0.2-0.4% Solution. 30ml or 60ml amber glass bottle with 3ml syringe for application   

 Warts

  1. VIP Wart Solution 5 Fluorouracil/Levamisole/Deoxy-d-Glucose/Salicylic Acid (5/0.5/1/20%)DMSO Solution. 5ml nail brush and bottle
  2. Salicylic Acid 10-40% White Petrolatum. 30gm or 60gm airless pump container or ointment jar
  3. Salicylic Acid 5-40% Topical Cream or Ointment. 30gm-120gm airless pump container or ointment jar
  4. Squaric Acid Dibutyl Ester 0.1%Topical Solution.5ml bottle

Raynaud's Phenomenon  (Circulation Problems)

  1. Nifedipine 2-4% PLO Gel. 30gm or 60gm airless pump container
  2. Nifedipine/Pentoxifylline 2/5%PLO Gel. 30gm or 60gm airless pump container

 

Gout

Neuralgia (Joint and Muscle Pain)

Neuropathic Pain

  1. Can be compounded as a single API or various combinations of APIs into a PLO Gel. airless pump container. Available APIs: Amitriptyline 1-6%, Capsaicin 0.01- 0.1%, Carbamazepine 2-6%, Diclofenac 1-4%, Gabapentin2-4%, Ketamine2-6%, Ketoprofen2-4%, Lidocaine 1-10%, Pentoxifylline 1-4%, Phenoxybenzamine 1-6%, Tetracaine 1-4%   
Hyperhidrosis
  1. Glycopyrrolate 1% Topical Cream. 30gm airless pump container

Rough and/or Dry Feet

  1. Urea 10-40% Topical Cream. 30gm-120gm airless pump container

Naltrexone

  1. LDN Low  Dose Naltrexone 0.5 to 2.0% Ointment or Cream.  30gm or 60gm in airless pump container
  2. LDN Low Dose Naltrexone 0.5 to 5mg Capsules

Anal Fissures

  1. Diltiazem 2% Ointment or Cream. 30gm or 60gm in airless pump container
  2. Nifedipine 0.2% Ointment or Cream. 30gm or 60gm in airless pump container
  3. Nifedipine 0.3% or Cream. 30gm or 60gm in airless pump container
  4. Ointment 4.Nitroglycerin 0.2% Ointment. 30gm or 60gm in airless pump container
  5. 5.Nifedipine/Lidocaine 0.2/2% Ointment or Cream. 30gm or 60gm in airless pump container
  6. 6.Misoprostol/Nitroglycerin/Phenytoin 0.002/0.2/0.2% Ointment or Cream. 30gm-60gm in airless pump container

 Hemorrhoids

  1. Hydrocortisone/Lidocaine 2/2%. Rectal Rockets. *API % can vary.  **Directions: after Bowel Movement and area is clean insert one rectal rocket suppository at bedtime. Place a towel underneath to prevent leakage and soiling bedsheets.
  2. Hydrocortisone/Lidocaine 2 /1% Ointment or Cream. 30 to 60g in Airless pump container

Radiation Proctitis

  1. Lidocaine/Misoprostol 4/0.003% Suppository 
  2. Short Chain Fatty Acid Enema (Sodium Butyrate)
  3. Sucrafate Enema

IBS (including other off-label uses)

  1. Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) 0.5 to 2.0% Ointment or Cream.  30gm or 60gm in airless pump container
  2. Low Dose Naltrexone  (LDN) 0.5mg to 5mg Capsules. 30 capsules or greater quantity available.
